An innovative syndicate aimed at attracting new owners from the East Asian community in the UK is under starter’s orders for the new British Flat Season.
Dynasty Racing Club’s green and yellow colours will initially be carried by four-year-old sprinter Regal Envoy who is in training with William Knight in Newmarket.
Kevin Orchard, who manages Dynasty Racing Club, explains: “Our first runner is the culmination of a year’s work by Great British Racing International (GBRI) to develop new relationships within the East Asian community.
“Regal Envoy has the right kind of profile to encourage potential new owners to get involved in our sport, initially as part of this new syndicate.”
The Ardad gelding won three times for trainer Clive Cox last year in the colours of Kennet Valley Thoroughbreds – twice at Bath and also at Salisbury – and will be unveiled as the club’s first horse at a launch event at the Lansdowne Club in London this evening.
“He will be ready to race in May and will target some nice five and six-furlong handicaps,” adds Kevin. “His main objective will be the Fitzdares Sprint Series at Windsor and we hope to qualify him for the final in August.”
Shares between 5% and 25% are available in Regal Envoy on a two-year basis, with owners benefiting from raceday badges with hospitality when Regal Envoy runs, stable visits, trips to sales at Newmarket and Doncaster, and a share of all prize money won plus any resale value.
In addition, a basic Dynasty Club membership, priced at £100, will also offer anyone interested in learning more access to information on the horses that will run in Dynasty Racing colours and invitations to Club social and networking events.
“The aim is to help our members develop their interest in British racing with a view to eventually buying their own horses,” adds Kevin, “and we will be introducing them to the sales later in the year to help them find out more about buying a racehorse.”
Minty Farquhar, general manager of GBRI, adds: “Over the past year, GBRI has been developing new relationships within the East Asian community here in the UK. The individuals we have met along the way have shown a love for the quintessentially British lifestyle and a keen interest in learning more about our historic sport.
“For those who have not explored racing before, the sport can be perceived as relatively inaccessible. We are delighted to be showing that the door is, in fact, wide open, and are thrilled that Kevin and Peter have stepped forward to offer a clear pathway for anyone within this network who is interested in taking their first steps into ownership.”
