Over last decade or so, there has been a massive growth in the number of horses racing in Britain under the banner of various shared ownership vehicles, like partnerships and syndicates. In the current economic climate, it makes sound sense for any racing fan looking to become more involved in the sport to join such a group, and it makes particularly good sense to choose a partnership which offers to its participants the kind of safeguards which are already built into the Kingsley Park Partnerships brand.
Since their inception in 2015, the Kingsley Park Partnerships have proved unique in offering those who invest in any of their partnership offers a double‐ edged guarantee.
First, no partner will ever be asked to make any additional financial contribution over and above that agreed at the outset of the partnership. The partnerships are underwritten by Johnston Racing Limited, so there is no danger of unexpected financial demands being made of any of our partners.
Second, the partnerships are charged Johnston Racing’s daily training fee, which includes all veterinary costs, including surgery. So if a horse sustains an injury requiring urgent and expensive veterinary intervention, those additional cost are NOT passed on to the partners.
Partly as a result of those benefits, the Kingsley Park Partnerships have proved both popular and successful. To date, 40 individual partnerships have been launched, with well over 100 winners recorded in the now familiar royal blue and emerald green racing colours. Those wins have included success in Group races; who can forget Dark Vision’s storming success in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes at Goodwood for Kingsley Park 10, or the remarkable career of Rose of Kildare, a €3,000 purchase by Charlie Johnston who went on to win three Group 3 races for Kingsley Park 14?
In 2023, Kingsley Park 30’s Edge of Darkness chalked up a hat‐ trick of wins, progressing to a run in the Melrose Stakes at York.
The partnerships’ horses have run at Royal Ascot, Glorious Goodwood and York allowing partners the thrill of enjoying ownership at the nation’s principal meetings at a fraction of the cost of sole ownership. So we’re delighted to announce that we are offering owners, old and new, the opportunity to join in three new partnerships, organised on our tried and tested models.
There will be two partnerships consisting of three two-year-olds, with a view to them racing across 2024 and 2025; one will be a standard partnership and one Gold. Additionally, we will offer another ‘Ready To Run’ partnership, consisting of two horses bought at the Horses‐In‐Training Sales, with the intention of racing them till October 2024.
